A number of people told me how much they needed my book, Only 10s - Using Distraction to get the Right Things Done, but then told me that they would never read it because they just aren't readers - reading never makes it to the top of their list. So, I did a series of videos talking about some of the key themes that I discuss in my book. Take a look below, or go straight to my YouTube channel here.
When I get "busy" and overwhelmed I cannot hear the instructions. Fear, Confusion and shoulds block my way to right actions. How can I slow down, quiet myself so I can hear what is next?
Steve Chandler's line, "It is not that you don't know how to that is the problem, it is your want to is not strong enough." Brilliant. What am I afraid to say yes to so the how can work its way out?
Only 10s is not a stand alone book. It is the culmination of years of work on worth, value, boundaries, and learning to put myself on "the list." To live a life of 10s, we need tools. The good news, there is a wealth of knowledge to get us where we want to go.
Getting up and ready to exercise rarely feels like a 10. Being fit. Looking good. Feeling good, that is a 10. But not at 6am. And... I have never heard anyone say, "Man I wish I didn't get that work out in."
A False 10 is that thing that's juicy, immediate, and gives us that dopamine rush but isn't on our agenda. It is a should or a fear based action or non action.
Creative and successful people usually have too many irons in the fire. How do we focus down to those few true 10s and bring them to life?
Here we separate our "to do" list or our day's 10 list out from the week's list and the big project list.
Discussion: what is a 10? Why are we pursuing 10s? Getting started.
